About the role

We are looking for a Young Person Mentor to support young people aged 16–18 who are leaving care and living in supported accommodation. You will help young people develop independence, confidence, and essential life skills to prepare them for adulthood. This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and making a positive difference in their lives. Key Responsibilities * Provide mentoring and support to young people aged 16–18. * Help young people develop independent living skills such as cooking, budgeting, and maintaining their accommodation. * Support young people to access education, training, and employment. * Build positive and trusting relationships with residents. * Ensure the safety and wellbeing of young people at all times. * Maintain daily records and support notes. * Work alongside social workers and other professionals involved in the young person's care. Requirements * Experience supporting young people or vulnerable individuals. * Good communication and interpersonal skills. * Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desirable: * Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, Youth Work, or similar. * Experience working with care leavers or supported accommodation services.
