About the role
Futures are looking to appoint a Service Engineer to join our clients growing team, supporting high precision 3–5 axis CNC machine tools across the UK and internationally.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer with a strong background in CNC machinery, precision engineering, and customer support to work with advanced machining technologies in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of high-specification CNC machine tools at customer sites worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
• Install and commission high precision 3–5 axis CNC machine tools at customer facilities.
• Carry out preventative maintenance, breakdown response, and repair activities.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and CNC control faults efficiently.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting both on-site and remotely.
• Calibrate and align machines to ensure optimal precision and performance.
• Support machine upgrades, retrofits, and software updates where required.
• Deliver customer training on machine operation and maintenance best practices.
• Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate documentation.
• Work closely with internal engineering and technical support teams to resolve complex issues.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and professionalism at all times.
• Ensure compliance with all health & safety procedures and company policies.
• Travel extensively throughout the UK and internationally as required.
Skills & Experience
• Proven experience servicing CNC machine tools, ideally 3–5 axis machining centres.
• Strong understanding of CNC controls such as Siemens, Heidenhain, Fanuc, or Mazatrol.
• Excellent fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the UK and globally.
• HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering
