Geography Subject Leader Location: Hackney Salary: £40,317 - £62,496 per annum Start Date: Sep 2026 Contract: Permanent GSL Education London Branch are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Geography Subject Leader to join a thriving coeducational secondary school and sixth form in Hackney. As a Geography Subject Leader, you will play a key role in shaping the curriculum, driving high standards of teaching and learning, and supporting both students and staff to achieve their full potential. Responsibilities: Lead and manage the Geography department as a Geography Subject Leader Plan and deliver engaging and high-quality Geography lessons across KS3–KS5 Develop and implement a strong and inclusive Geography curriculum Monitor student progress and raise attainment levels Support and mentor Geography teachers within the department Organise field trips and enrichment activities to enhance learning Ensure high standards of behaviour and classroom management Contribute to whole-school improvement as a Geography Subject Leader Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Proven experience teaching Geography at secondary level Previous experience in a leadership role or readiness to step up as a Geography Subject Leader Strong subject knowledge and passion for Geography Excellent communication and organisational skills Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff Commitment to continuous professional development Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
