Transport Contract General Manager Salary: £70,000k - £90,000k Type: Full time permanent Location: Coventry – M6 - West Midlands Sector: Intermodal & UK Road – FMCG This is an excellent opportunity to join a global organisation in a Transport Contract General Manager appointment. You will have responsibly for several large client contracts ensuring all KPI’s are achieved + be the main point of contact for your customers, providing support to UK road, Sea & Rail freight throughout the UK / European region. Key Areas: - * Leadership & People management * Planning, Operations & H&S – full responsibility * Customer Service / Client Management * P&L – commercials – contract management - contract growth * Maximising commercial opportunities The key responsibilities: - * Manage and oversee resources, including strategies for building and updating fleets, hiring, training, keeping, and meeting customer demand based on set performance goals. * Financial – Responsible for ensuring agreed targets are met within the P&L (overall revenue, logistics earnings / costings, client & team management * Act as main point of contact on a national level to develop and exceed customer expectations. * Sales maximisation – Responsible for continual sales maximisation by means of regular contact with all customers. * Ensure adherence to safety, legal, and policy standards through fleet audits, operational safety measures, and meeting health and safety goals and performance benchmarks. * Provide operational solutions that exceed customer expectations based on set performance goals, including managing fleets and drivers at all locations, handling deliveries, optimizing routes between depots, and managing returns throughout the UK, while also offering additional services to meet budget goals. * Implement financial controls to meet customer open book budgets and the company's broader business goals, and to earn bonus contributions for meeting performance and goals. Assist in developing budget goals and initiatives to seize opportunities through collaborative efforts. * Effectively communicate and distribute the strategic plan, which is divided into specific, measurable tasks at the site level, to ensure the team understands their roles in achieving the broader strategy and are motivated to perform their tasks with purpose. * Facilitate the natural expansion of the business by conducting Supply Chain Mapping analyses and developing Joint Account Plans, and by supporting the design and development of solutions for new business ventures aimed at achieving sustainable growth. * Showcase strong leadership in people by providing coaching, mentoring, and developing team members. * Customer Service – Responsible for the delivery of a high standard of Customer Service against agreed targets. Person Specification: - · Previous experience of working within a supply chain logistics environment · Previous experience of FMCG multi customer operation · Good analytical and numerical skills · Good knowledge of Microsoft / Excel applications
