Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Drama Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Rugby on a maternity cover basis. The successful candidate will have a strong enthusiasm for the performing arts and a commitment to delivering engaging and dynamic lessons that inspire creativity and confidence in students.
You will be responsible for teaching Drama across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, encouraging students to develop performance, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality Drama lessons in line with the national curriculum
Teach Drama across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
Inspire students through practical and theoretical approaches to performance
Organise and lead school productions, performances, and extracurricular drama activities
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Maintain effective classroom management in line with school policies
Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Performing Arts department
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Degree in Drama, Performing Arts, or a related subject
Experience teaching Drama at secondary level
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for theatre and performance
Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
