eam Leader – Children’s Residential Care (Maternity Cover)
Location: Oswestry, SY11 Salary: £37,810 per year Shift Pattern: 2 on – 4 off (including sleep-ins) Contract: Full-time, fixed-term maternity cover – ASAP start preferred
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Team Leader to join our team in a small EBD children’s residential home supporting young people with complex needs, trauma backgrounds, and emotional & behavioural challenges.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role, supervise and develop a team of support workers, and make a genuine difference to the lives of vulnerable young people in a stable, trauma-informed environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead shifts and ensure high-quality, consistent care in line with individual care plans
* Provide supervision, guidance, and support to residential care staff
* Contribute to the development and review of care plans using trauma-informed practice
* Support daily operations, safeguarding procedures, and maintaining high home standards
* Build strong relationships with professionals, families, and external agencies
* Assist with staff training, mentoring, and day-to-day home administration
Essential Requirements:
* At least 1 year’s experience working in residential childcare
* Strong understanding of child development and trauma-informed practice
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent – working towards is acceptable)
* Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
* Full UK driving licence
* Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins
