Mechanical Field Service Engineer – The Opportunity Are you a mechanically biased engineer looking for a field-based role with autonomy, variety, and strong earning potential? This is an opportunity to join a long-established UK supplier of garage equipment, supporting a busy customer base across London and the M25 region. You’ll work on a wide range of mechanical systems, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and keeping essential workshop equipment operational. If you enjoy hands-on engineering, problem-solving, and being out on-site rather than stuck in one place, this role offers real long-term progression and stability. The Role – Mechanical Field Service Engineer Working from home, you’ll attend customer sites across the region, focusing primarily on the mechanical service and repair of garage equipment. Key responsibilities include: • Service, maintenance, and repair of tyre changers, wheel balancers, and vehicle lifts • Mechanical fault finding, diagnosis, and repair on customer sites • Working on hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems • Carrying out planned maintenance and reactive breakdown work • Installation and commissioning of new equipment • Ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently • Completing service reports via tablet and liaising with the service team What We’re Looking For • Strong mechanical engineering background (essential) • Experience working on hydraulic, pneumatic, or lifting equipment • Previous field service, maintenance, or workshop engineering experience • Confident fault-finder with a practical, hands-on approach • Any experience with garage equipment, plant, lifting gear, or similar is highly advantageous • Basic electrical knowledge (desirable, not essential) • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently • Full UK driving licence Salary, Overtime & Benefits • Starting salary from £42,500 (DOE) • Overtime available to boost earnings significantly • Company van, fuel card, tools, tablet, and phone • Door-to-door style working environment (field-based autonomy) • Full product training and ongoing development • Stable, long-term role with a growing UK business Why This Role?
