Paediatric Occupational Therapist - EHCP Assessments and OT sessions Location: London Working Pattern: On‑site Contract Type: Temporary / Ad‑hoc We are currently recruiting an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to support a London Local Authority with statutory Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) assessments. This role focuses on carrying out specialist occupational therapy assessments and delivering OT as part of the Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) process. You will provide high‑quality, evidence‑based recommendations to support children and young people's development, functional independence, and access to education, contributing to legally robust and outcome‑focused EHCPs. The role involves close collaboration with schools, families, and multi‑disciplinary professionals to ensure coordinated, child‑centred support. Key Responsibilities Undertake paediatric occupational therapy assessments for children and young people as part of statutory EHCNAs. Produce clear, outcome‑focused reports and recommendations for EHCPs. Work collaboratively with schools, parents/carers, and Local Authority teams. Contribute to annual reviews and ongoing EHCP processes where required. Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, ensuring compliance with safeguarding, GDPR, and professional standards.Essential Requirements BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy. HCPC registration (essential). Minimum 2 years' post‑qualification experience working with children and young people with SEND. Proven experience contributing to EHCPs within educational or clinical settings. Strong assessment, report‑writing, and communication skills. Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service. Professional indemnity and public liability insurance.Desirable Experience Membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT). Experience working across early years, mainstream, and/or specialist school settings. Knowledge of sensory integration, autism, and/or physical disabilities. Experience delivering training or advice to school staff and families.Additional Information Consultancy-based role offering flexibility. Travel to schools and educational settings across London may be required.
