About the role

Site Engineer Location: Widnes Salary: £50,000 Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm Type: Permanent Sector: Manufacturing / Engineering We are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a well-established UK manufacturing business based in Widnes. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong multi-discipline skills, ideally with an electrical background, who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing manufacturer supplying high-quality products across the UK, where reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement are key to operations. The Role As a Site Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of manufacturing equipment and site services. You will be responsible for ensuring machinery runs efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime. Key responsibilities include: * Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production equipment * Responding quickly to breakdowns and carrying out fault diagnosis and repair * Supporting installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment * Working across electrical and mechanical systems * Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation * Identifying opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and safety * Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site * Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety procedures Requirements * Proven experience working as a Site Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or similar role * Multi-skilled engineering background (electrical bias preferred) * Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Good understanding of health and safety standards * A proactive and reliable approach to maintenance and problem solving Desirable (but not essential) * Electrical qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) * Experience working with production machinery or manufacturing lines * PLC fault-finding experience * Knowledge of continuous improvement or lean manufacturing principles Apply Now If you are a multi-skilled engineer looking for your next opportunity in a hands-on manufacturing environment, we’d like to hear from you
