About the role

A great opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer to join their high‑performing manufacturing site. This is a genuine development role, designed for someone early in their engineering career who wants hands‑on experience, structured training and a clear pathway to becoming a fully competent multi‑skilled maintenance engineer. You'll be working alongside experienced engineers on a fast‑paced production environment, learning how to fault‑find, maintain and improve automated machinery while building long‑term career security in a stable manufacturing business. Key Responsibilities: Support planned and reactive maintenance activities across production machinery Assist with fault finding on electrical systems, including control panels, sensors, motors and drives, boilers etc Carry out basic electrical repairs under supervision Learn to read and interpret electrical schematics and manuals Support breakdown response to minimise downtime Assist with continuous improvement and reliability projects Maintain accurate maintenance records and adhere to health & safety standards at all timesBeneficial Skills / Qualifications: Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 2/3, BTEC, City & Guilds, apprenticeship or similar) Strong interest in electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment Willingness to learn, take feedback and develop technical ability Reliable, safety‑focused and comfortable working shifts Any exposure to maintenance or manufacturing environments Basic understanding of PLCs or automated equipment Mechanical awareness or interest in becoming multi‑skilled Attitude and commitment are more important than experience.
