Locum Band 7 Highly Specialist Physiotherapist – Community Paediatrics Location: Sunderland Start Date: ASAP End Date: 30/09/2026 Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (Flexible working available – part-time considered) Job Overview * We are seeking an experienced Band 7 Highly Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist to join a well-established community children’s physiotherapy team based at Sunderland Royal Hospital. * This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled clinician to manage a complex caseload while playing a key role in service development and delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to children and young people. Key Responsibilities * Manage an independent and varied caseload, prioritising workload to meet service demands while working autonomously * Deliver highly specialist paediatric physiotherapy assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and advice for children with complex conditions * Apply advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice in all aspects of care * Take a lead role in clinical practice and service development, contributing to improvements in patient pathways * Supervise, train, and support junior staff, assistants, and students, contributing to the in-service training programme * Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, families, and carers to coordinate care and support discharge planning * Maintain high standards of documentation, ensuring compliance with professional, legal, and organisational requirements * Uphold safeguarding responsibilities for children and vulnerable individuals * Ensure safe use of equipment and clinical environments * Participate in research, CPD, and continuous service improvement, maintaining high infection control standards Requirements * HCPC registered Physiotherapist * Significant experience within paediatric physiotherapy, including complex caseloads * Ability to work independently and autonomously * Strong clinical reasoning, leadership, and communication skills * Experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment Additional Information * Long-term contract opportunity * Flexible working arrangements available * Immediate start To apply or find out more, please submit your CV or contact us directly
