Education Capital & Place Planning Officer Location: Northamptonshire area (Local Authority) – hybrid working (part remote) Duration: 12-week interim assignment Rate: £500 per day (umbrella) / £361.97 per day (PAYE exclusive) About the Role A local authority in the East Midlands is seeking an experienced Education Capital & Place Planning Officer to support the delivery of its statutory duty to ensure sufficient education provision across the area. You will play a key role in analysing demand, planning school places, and supporting the commissioning of new education provision in collaboration with partner organisations and statutory bodies. Key Responsibilities Plan, forecast, and review demand for education places across the local area Support the commissioning and delivery of new school places and education provision Work with internal teams and external statutory partners on education planning initiatives Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of policies and procedures relating to 0–25 education planning Support processes linked to school conversions to academy status Assist in ensuring sufficient school capacity through capital planning and project deliveryAbout You Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 4, HNC or relevant experience) Experience in education planning, capital programmes, school place planning, or local authority education services Strong understanding of statutory education duties and commissioning processes Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders Analytical approach with strong planning and organisational skillsAdditional Information Hybrid working arrangement (office presence in the North Northamptonshire area required as needed) Short-term interim assignment (12 weeks) Competitive daily rate with both umbrella and PAYE options available
