Senior Cable Engineer

Senior Cable Engineer - Derby Join a well-established engineering organisation delivering major transmission & distribution projects across the UK. The role: You'll be responsible for the design of HV/EHV (11kV-400kV) cable systems, from initial concept and costing through to detailed engineering and project delivery. Key responsibilities: Design HV/EHV cable systems, including sizing and rating calculations Produce drawings, material schedules, and technical documentation Carry out installation, pulling tension, and loading calculations Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders Support site visits, design reviews, and project deliveryWhat we're looking for: Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Experience with HV/EHV power systems (cables and/or substations) Strong design skills (AutoCAD, schematics, calculations) Understanding of cable installation methods Able to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
