Design Engineer

Overview An established engineering manufacturer is seeking an Experienced Design Engineer to join its in-house engineering function. This is a hands-on, technically focused role working on the design and development of heavy-duty industrial machinery, supporting both new product development and continuous improvement of existing equipment. Responsibilities You will play a key role within the design function, taking ownership of mechanical designs for industrial equipment and ensuring solutions are robust, manufacturable and compliant with relevant standards. Design and development of mechanical systems and components for heavy industrial machinery Creation of 3D CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawings Supporting new product development and evolution of existing designs Liaising with production, procurement and project teams to optimise design outcomes Participation in design reviews, risk assessments and validation activities Managing engineering documentation and design changes Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing Criteria Background in Mechanical Engineering or similar Experience in a Design Engineering role within a manufacturing or engineering environment Competent using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor or equivalent) Good understanding of mechanical design, drawings, and manufacturing processes Practical, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work collaboratively Reward Competitive salary package, dependent on experience Long-term, permanent position within a stable engineering business Opportunity to work on large-scale, technically challenging equipment Supportive, professional engineering environment with scope for progression Involvement in projects supplying equipment to global markets Skills: Design Engineer Mechanical Design CAD Mechanical Design Engineer Benefits: Performance Bonus Paid Holidays Parking
