A rapidly growing, London-based AI start-up is looking for an exceptional engineer to join its small technical team and help shape the next stage of the business. This a great opportunity to work on tech that has a positive impact on the world.

The company is applying AI to civil and environmental engineering , with the ambition to modernise how complex engineering work is carried out. It's an opportunity to work on technically challenging problems in an industry with huge potential for AI adoption.

You'll be joining as the third technical hire, working directly with the founders and taking ownership across architecture, development and product direction. They're looking for someone who enjoys building from scratch, thrives in an early-stage environment and wants to have a genuine say in how a company develops.

The business has seen strong early market interest and recently secured a significantly oversubscribed pre-seed fundraise. With commercial opportunities developing and plans for international expansion, this is an exciting point to come on board.

About you

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience

• Language agnostic and comfortable working across modern technologies

• Interested in AI, LLMs and agentic systems

• Experienced building scalable, production-grade systems

• Interested in joining a company with real-world, for good cause

• Excited by the prospect of joining an early-stage company and helping shape its engineering culture

What you'll be doing

• Building and developing AI-powered software from the ground up

• Designing and implementing agentic systems using modern AI technologies

• Taking ownership of technical architecture and key engineering decisions

• Working closely with the founders to shape the product and technical roadmap

• Solving complex problems across AI and civil engineering applications

• Helping establish the technical foundations as the company scales
