About the role
Nursery Room Leader required urgently
We are currently seeking a confident and enthusiastic (Cache level 3 childcare trained or equivalent) to join a friendly, school-adjacent nursery in Barnet (N12).
This role is based in the baby room, leading a small team of 2 practitioners.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone experienced in supporting in a nursery setting who is passionate about Early Years education who is ready to lead, inspire, and make a real impact in a nurturing, child-centred environment.
What the Room Leader role involves:
As Room Leader, you will take responsibility for the smooth daily running of the baby room, ensuring high standards of care, learning, and safeguarding at all times. You will:
Lead and support a small team of practitioners, promoting teamwork and consistency
Plan and deliver engaging EYFS-based activities tailored to babies' developmental needs
Act as a key person, building strong relationships with children and families
Monitor and track children's progress through observations and learning journeys
Maintain a safe, stimulating, and well-organised environment
Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare procedures are consistently followed
What we're looking for in a Room Leader:
CACHE Level 3 (or equivalent) in Early Years/Childcare - essential
Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development
Experience in a nursery or early years setting
Previous leadership or room responsibility experience (desirable but not essential)
Confident communicator with strong organisational skills
A positive, proactive, and caring approach to Early Years practice
