About the role
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Asbestos Removal Operative to join our specialised environmental services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely removing asbestos materials from various sites, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This role offers an opportunity to work within a professional environment focused on safety, precision, and environmental responsibility. Candidates must demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to follow strict safety protocols.
Duties
* Safely remove asbestos-containing materials from residential, commercial, or industrial properties in accordance with current legislation and safety standards
* Prepare work sites by setting up containment areas and ensuring proper ventilation
* Use specialised equipment and tools for asbestos removal, including hand tools and power tools
* Conduct thorough inspections of work areas to confirm the complete removal of asbestos materials
* Follow all health and safety procedures during the removal, handling, and disposal of asbestos waste
* Assist with minor carpentry, roofing, or construction tasks as required during project work
* Maintain detailed records of removal activities and waste disposal in compliance with regulatory requirements
* Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working order and report any faults or issues promptly
Qualifications
* Previous experience in construction-related trades such as carpentry, roofing, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, or fabrication is advantageous but not essential
* Knowledge of asbestos regulations and safe handling procedures is preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate
* Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction or environmental work
* Ability to interpret technical instructions and follow strict safety guidelines
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
* Physical fitness to undertake manual labour tasks, including lifting and working at heights if necessary
* A Valid UK driving licence is desirable but not mandatory

* Asbestos Removal New Operative Course or Refresher
* Fully licenced asbestos medical
* Half face fits
* Mask Test
