Are you a driven Psychologist looking to make a tangible difference in a fast-paced clinical setting? Join our Integrated Mental Health Team at HMP Preston, a Category B prison housing approximately 750 patients.
As an integral member of the clinical leadership team, you will shape the development of our psychological therapies service while mentoring the next generation of talent by line managing an Assistant Psychologist.
The Role: Clinical Impact & Leadership
In this varied and rewarding role, you will:
- Clinical Oversight: Provide expert support to the Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT) and lead complex multi-disciplinary formulations.
- Direct Intervention: Deliver high-level 1:1 and group interventions, including our specialist trauma-informed 'Making Sense' programme.
- Team Development: Supervise an Assistant Psychologist and deliver bespoke training to both healthcare and prison staff.
- Service Evolution: Contribute to audits, research, and service evaluations to ensure we remain at the forefront of secure environment healthcare.
What Youll Need
- Qualifications: Qualified Clinical, Forensic, or Counselling Psychologist.
- Registration: Current registration with the HCPC (or equivalent regulatory body).
- Experience: A strong background in working with psychological trauma and a desire to work within a challenging yet rewarding secure environment.
