Support Worker - Children's Contracts Kent £27,264 - £33,384 per annum Full-time | Permanent (40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm)

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for Support Workers to join a dedicated and growing Children's Contracts team across Kent.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people leaving care, including unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people, as they transition into independent living. You will play a vital role in empowering individuals to build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve positive long-term outcomes.

Working as part of a supportive and collaborative team, you will manage your own caseload and deliver high-quality, person-centred support across a diverse geographic area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of young people within supported accommodation
  • Provide practical and emotional support to those living independently
  • Support the development of essential life skills such as budgeting, education, and daily living
  • Work in line with individual pathway plans, ensuring progress and regular updates
  • Liaise with social workers, local authorities, and external stakeholders
  • Promote safeguarding and ensure all concerns are appropriately reported
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Conduct property visits to ensure health & safety and accommodation standards are met
  • Support young people during move-ins, including inductions and settling into accommodation
  • Participate in service development, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide on-call support where required

About You

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and making a meaningful difference.

Essential:

  • Previous experience working with young people within a care or support setting
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently
  • Willingness to travel regularly across a wide geographic area

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Children's Social Care (or willingness xwzovoh to work towards)
  • Knowledge of the Children's Act and relevant social care legislation
