About the role
Relationship Director
The Relationship Director is a full relationship management role that engages with existing and prospective customers to help them realise their ambitions. The role involves managing relationships with customers having turnovers of between £15M and £350M, including both domestic and international portfolios, and overseeing all aspects of the relationship such as operational and credit risk.
Responsibilities
- Operate as an ambassador for HSBC, developing the bank’s profile in the local business and wider community.
- Support customers and place their needs at the forefront of all activities, setting world‑class standards.
- Seek new opportunities and nurture existing relationships to identify new business opportunities.
- Build a network of business introducers in the local professional and business community.
- Adhere to structures and processes for the management of credit, operational, reputation, financial crime and regulatory risk.
- Collaborate with product partners to assess the needs of international and domestic customers and offer appropriate solutions.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a relevant Corporate Banking role, with knowledge of products and services.
- Credit and lending experience.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and meet customer needs while managing a portfolio of clients and complex lending requests.
- Comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory processes.
- Self‑driven, able to manage conflicting priorities and deliver to deadlines.
- Experience in developing growth opportunities with both existing and new-to‑bank clients.
Location & Working Arrangements
This is a hybrid position with the base location being Guildford or Maidstone. Clients are based across Surrey, Sussex and Kent. The working week typically consists of home and office‑based work, with regular client visits. Candidates should be within an easy commutable distance of this region and possess a full driving licence.
