Job Title: Specialist Occupational Therapist

Role Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Specialist Occupational Therapist to join a specialist palliative care service in Newry. This role involves providing high-quality occupational therapy to patients with complex palliative care needs, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support independence, comfort and quality of life.
Key Requirements
* Minimum 3 years’ post-graduate Occupational Therapy experience
* Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
* Experience providing Occupational Therapy interventions to palliative care patients in an acute and/or community setting
* Registered with the HCPC
* Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy recognised by WFOT
* Experience in postural management and prescription of specialised seating systems
* Experience assessing and recommending adaptive equipment
* Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills
* Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team
* Full UK driving licence and access to a car for work purposes, including appropriate business insurance, or another suitable arrangement
Desirable Experience
* Experience in fatigue, anxiety and dyspnoea management
* Knowledge of current oncology and palliative care guidelines
* Experience facilitating group activities
* Experience participating in audit or research
* Experience using cognitive screening tools
* Postgraduate development in palliative care or a related specialist area
* Knowledge and understanding of RQIA standards
