About the role

Are you an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher looking for an opportunity in a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school? Do you have experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and leading high-quality SEND provision? Are you looking for a rewarding SEN Lead Teacher role to start in September 2026? Academics is currently working with a friendly and forward-thinking mainstream primary school in Hammersmith, which is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Lead Teacher to join its supportive team from September 2026. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading the SEN provision, writing and reviewing EHCP plans, coordinating targeted support for pupils with additional needs, and providing class cover where required across the specialist provision. Location: Mainstream Primary School - Hammersmith Permanent Role: Full-time, Monday to Friday Start Date: September 2026 Salary: M3 to UPS1 + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience) Day-to-Day Responsibilities: * Lead and support the development of the new specialist SEND provision for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Write, review, and monitor EHCP targets and reports, ensuring pupils receive personalised support and progress is accurately tracked. * Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils' individual learning, communication, and sensory needs. * Support pupils with emotional regulation, social interaction, and independence skills. * Lead targeted interventions and ensure high-quality teaching and learning across the provision. * Liaise with parents and carers to provide regular updates on pupil progress and support strategies. * Support and mentor support staff working within the SEND unit.What We're Looking For: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). * An undergraduate degree. * Strong experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ideally within a mainstream school, specialist provision, or SEND setting. * Experience writing and reviewing EHCPs and contributing to annual reviews. * Previous leadership experience or the confidence and ambition to step into a SEN Lead Teacher role. * Excellent knowledge of SEND strategies, interventions, and inclusive teaching practices. * A genuine passion for inclusive education and improving outcomes for pupils with SEND.
