Classroom Support Assistant - Reading

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Classroom Support Assistant to join a welcoming and dedicated team at a specialist school for children aged 5 to 16 with mental health needs, learning difficulties, and associated behaviours.
This is a unique role combining academic and therapeutic support in the classroom with active involvement in the school's sports and physical development programme.
About the role as a Classroom Support Assistant:
Support students on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping them to engage with learning, build self-esteem, and manage emotional or behavioural challenges.
Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering lessons, managing behaviour, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
Play a key role in supporting sport and physical activity throughout the school day - helping to lead or assist in PE lessons, movement breaks, and outdoor learning.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to promote progress and wellbeing for every child.To be a successful Classroom Support Assistant:
A calm, patient and caring nature with a genuine interest in working with children with SEMH needs and learning difficulties.
An interest or background in sports, physical education, coaching, or fitness.
Experience working with children or young people (in a school, coaching, youth work or care setting) is desirable but not essential - training is provided.
