Summer-Browning Associates is currently supporting our central government client, who is seeking a
Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator
for an initial 12-month assignment with the option to extend.
Location:
East Kilbride (Glasgow) | Hybrid 60% onsite The ideal candidate will have an active security clearance and a proven background in Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator, with experience supporting and maintaining enterprise-scale SQL Server environments Skills and Experience: Proven expertise in installing, configuring, and administering Microsoft SQL Server 2019, complemented by proficiencies in T-SQL development and troubleshooting. Experience in the development and maintenance of PowerShell scripts for purposes of automation and administration. Comprehensive understanding of SQL Server High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions. Practical experience with SQL Server Always-On Availability Groups and clustered environments. Proficiency in implementing and managing Log Shipping solutions as a means of disaster recovery. Familiarity with the application of SQL Server Service Packs (SPs), Cumulative Updates (CUs), and Windows security patches. Strong knowledge of SQL Server security best practices, encompassing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Active Directory integration, and the management of security groups. Understanding of TLS/SSL certificates and encryption technologies used to secure SQL Server communications and endpoints. To apply, please submit your latest CV for review.
