Senior Site Manager – Main Contractor | £20m Education Project | Newport Location: Newport Salary: Competitive + Package Sector: Construction – Main Contractor Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time The Opportunity An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Site Manager to join a highly respected, tier-one main contractor delivering a £20m education project in Newport. This is a key role on a flagship scheme, working closely with the Lead Project Manager to ensure successful delivery from construction through to handover. This position offers long-term career progression, exposure to high-profile public sector developments, and the chance to work within a collaborative and forward-thinking project team. Key Responsibilities ·Support the Lead Project Manager in the day-to-day running of the site ·Oversee subcontractors to ensure work is delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard ·Manage site operations including programme adherence, logistics, and quality control ·Ensure strict compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures ·Coordinate with design teams and stakeholders to resolve any site issues ·Monitor progress and provide regular updates to senior management ·Drive high standards of workmanship and ensure project milestones are achieved Requirements ·Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager with a recognised main contractor ·Strong track record delivering projects in the £10m–£30m range ·Experience working with well-known contractors across South Wales and/or the South West (either side of the Severn Bridge) ·Education or healthcare project experience is highly desirable ·Excellent leadership and communication skills ·Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain programme deadlines ·Strong understanding of construction processes, H&S, and quality standards Qualifications ·SMSTS (essential) ·CSCS (Black/Gold Card) ·First Aid at Work ·Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree preferred) What’s on Offer ·Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package ·Opportunity to work on a high-profile education scheme ·Clear career progression within a leading main contractor ·Supportive and collaborative team environment Apply Now If you are a driven Senior Site Manager looking for your next challenge on a significant project in Newport, we want to hear from you.
