Your New Company
AstraZeneca is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Partner to provide leave cover for an initial three-month period, with the potential for extension. This role will play a critical part in delivering expert employee relations support across the UK business, partnering with managers and leaders to manage complex ER matters, organisational change initiatives, and employment law risks.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical ER expertise with a pragmatic, commercial approach, helping to drive fair and consistent people practices while supporting a positive employee experience in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment.
Your New Role/Responsibilities
- Manage own ER caseload providing high-quality and consistent advice to stakeholders in relation to formal hearings and diagnosing areas of improvement for future organisational learning. Devising and implementing case strategy with a risk-based and commercial mindset.
- Support on a range of business change projects, ensuring that all ER considerations have been understood and devise appropriate approaches to discharge all legal responsibilities.
- Undertake formal investigations in support of the Lead Investigator in the UK.
- Supporting with Employment Tribunal litigation preparation.
- Design and deliver a range of training to managers on people management issues, ER policy and processes.
Essential Skills
- Significant experience in ER (Employee Relations) case management
- HR/ER related qualification and previous experience in Employee Relations, Legal or Compliance departments
- Extensive experience of UK business organisational change projects & consultation obligations
- Excellent understanding of employment law and good practice and understanding of how to advise managers and leaders on the application
- Able to influence decisions by persuasion, negotiation, facilitation
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with staff and leaders at all levels
- Independent approach to leading own workload, acting decisively and using appropriate judgement relating to the application of policy and local employment law
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to develop innovative approaches to achieve a resolution
- Degree or Equivalent
- An understanding of human behaviour and handling difficult conversations
Desirable for the role
- Experience in Pharma organisations ER case management
