Interim Health & Safety Lead Central London | £450 per day Umbrella A Central London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Interim Health & Safety Lead to provide senior-level capacity during a critical period of Health & Safety improvement. This is a high-profile, strategic interim assignment focused on stabilising current activity, progressing key Health & Safety priorities, and establishing robust frameworks for future delivery.  Key Responsibilities: Establish a clear baseline of Health & Safety maturity across the Council Progress priority improvements aligned to an ISO 45001-style management system Strengthen consistency, visibility and engagement across services and Directorates Develop practical Health & Safety frameworks, tools and governance arrangements Create a structured handover and implementation roadmap for permanent postholders Support senior leaders in driving compliance and continuous improvement About You: Significant senior Health & Safety leadership experience within large, complex organisations Proven experience designing, reviewing or implementing ISO 45001-aligned management systems Strong track record of improving Health & Safety management frameworks and processes Experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving engagement without formal authority Ability to deliver results quickly within a time-limited interim assignment Excellent communication, stakeholder management and facilitation skills Methodical approach to documentation, governance and handover planning Public sector or local government experience is highly desirable Please note: We can only accept applications from candidates who have the right to work in the UK
