The Role

A leading organisation in the space technology sector is seeking a Senior AIT Technician to support the assembly, integration and test of satellite systems and space-based hardware.

This is a hands-on interim role supporting active space programmes, working within a highly skilled engineering team to deliver critical build and test activities on time and to the highest quality standards.

Key Focus Areas

• Mechanical and electrical assembly and integration of satellite sub-systems and flight hardware
• Wiring, harnessing and connector terminations to IPC-A-610 / IPC-A-620 standards
• Soldering and rework activities to IPC J-STD-001
• Execution of functional testing and accurate recording of test data
• Fault finding and troubleshooting at component and system level
• Working from engineering drawings, schematics and build instructions
• Maintaining cleanroom, ESD and quality compliance standards
• Supporting efficient delivery across live programme schedules

What We’re Looking For

• 5–10+ years’ hands-on experience in AIT, electronics assembly or test roles within space, aerospace or defence
• Strong practical experience in wiring, soldering, harnessing and integration
• Solid understanding of IPC standards (A-610, A-620, J-STD-001)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings xwzovoh and schematics
• Experience with test equipment (DVMs, oscilloscopes, etc.)
• Experience working in cleanroom / ESD-controlled environments

The Details

• Contract Length: 3 months with strong potential for extension
• Location: Harwell, Oxfordshire - On-site role
• Rate: £300 per day (Inside IR35)
• Start: ASAP
• Clearance: BPSS required before start
