HR Manager – Branded Hotel, Brighton

We are seeking an experienced and personable HR Manager to lead the people function at a branded hotel in Brighton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on HR professional to take ownership of the full employee lifecycle at a single, vibrant property, working closely with the General Manager and Heads of Department to build a strong, engaged team culture.


You'll be a visible, trusted presence on-site, balancing day-to-day operational HR with longer-term initiatives that support the hotel's performance and guest experience.


Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary HR point of contact for the General Manager and all Heads of Department
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, and absence management
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment law, brand standards, and internal HR policies
  • Lead recruitment activity to attract and retain talent in a competitive Brighton hospitality market
  • Coach and support line managers on people management best practice
  • Drive employee engagement, recognition, and wellbeing initiatives across the hotel
  • Oversee HR administration, payroll liaison, and HRIS data accuracy
  • Manage training and development plans, including brand and compliance training
  • Support workforce planning and headcount budgeting
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across the hotel


Requirements

  • Proven HR management experience within a hotel or branded hospitality environment
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and best practice
  • CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent experience)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable building relationships at all levels
  • Confident handling complex employee relations cases independently
  • Highly organised, with strong prioritisation skills in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a genuine passion for hospitality and people
  • Familiarity with branded hotel standards and systems is an advantage
