About the Role

As a Senior Building Control Surveyor, you will undertake a varied and rewarding workload, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation. You will play an integral part in safeguarding public safety while supporting development across the area.


Key responsibilities of the Senior Building Control Surveyor include:

  • Assessing plans and conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with Building Regulations
  • Carrying out inspections across a range of areas, including dangerous structures, demolitions, and public safety
  • Providing guidance, mentoring, and supervision to less-experienced team members
  • Responding to technical enquiries from clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Liaising with internal departments and external bodies such as Fire Authorities and water companies
  • Supporting enforcement activities, including possible court attendance
  • Contributing to service development and actively promoting Building Control services


The successful Senior Building Control Surveyor will have: xwzovoh

  • Is a Registered Building Inspector (or working towards relevant registration)
  • Has strong knowledge of Building Regulations and associated legislation
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Is passionate about delivering high standards of public service
  • Enjoys mentoring others and contributing to team development
  • Can work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
