Associate Commercial Director – Groundworks

Location: Hampshire / Southampton | Permanent

Salary: £85,000–£100,000 + Car / Car Allowance + Bespoke Package

Sphere Solutions are working in partnership with a highly successful, established groundworks and civil engineering contractor to recruit an ambitious Associate Commercial Director to spearhead the development of a new regional operation across Hampshire and the South Coast.

This is a particularly exciting opportunity for an established commercial professional with a strong background in residential groundworks, who has the industry relationships, commercial expertise and entrepreneurial drive to help establish and grow a new region.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the commercial development and expansion of a new regional groundworks operation across Hampshire and the South Coast.

* Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities within the residential groundworks and housing sectors.

* Utilise an established network of contacts and relationships with PLC housebuilders, regional developers and other key clients to generate new opportunities.

* Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, positioning the business as a preferred groundworks contractor.

* Identify suitable projects and contracts, leading commercial discussions and supporting successful tender submissions.

* Build a sustainable pipeline of work to support the establishment and long-term growth of the new region.

* Work closely with the wider senior leadership team to develop and implement the regional growth strategy.

* Help shape the operational requirements and future structure of the new regional office.

* Maintain strong commercial controls, ensuring projects are commercially viable and delivered profitably.

* Support the continued development of the business and its reputation within the South Coast construction market.

About You

* A proven background in groundworks and civil engineering, specifically within the residential housing sector -this experience is essential.

* Experience operating at Commercial Director, Associate Commercial Director, Commercial Manager or a similar senior commercial level.

* An established network of contacts across PLC housebuilders and regional residential developers.

* A demonstrable ability to generate new business, develop client relationships and secure groundworks contracts.

* Strong commercial and contractual knowledge, with the ability to identify and maximise commercial opportunities.

* The confidence and ambition to help establish and grow a new regional operation.

* Strong leadership, negotiation and relationship-building skills.

* Experience using COINS would be advantageous.

Most importantly, you will need to bring an existing network of relationships and the ability to convert those relationships into genuine commercial opportunities.

Salary & Package

* Basic salary guide of £85,000–£100,000, depending on experience and commercial network.

* Company car or car allowance.
