About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Family Paralegal to join our busy Family Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or develop their career in family law within a supportive and professional legal environment.
The successful candidate will be based at our Huyton office and will be expected to travel between our Widnes and Runcorn offices when required. You will work closely with solicitors and the wider Family Department, providing administrative and legal support while gaining valuable experience across a range of family law matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing day-to-day support to solicitors and fee earners within the Family Department.
- Assisting with the management of family law files from initial instruction through to conclusion.
- Preparing correspondence, legal documents, court forms, and file notes.
- Communicating with clients, courts, and other relevant parties in a professional manner.
- Assisting with the preparation of documents for hearings and appointments.
- Maintaining accurate client records and ensuring files are kept up to date.
- Carrying out legal research and assisting with case preparation.
- Supporting the team with general administrative duties.
- Ensuring compliance with firm procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Travelling between the Huyton, Widnes, and Runcorn offices as required.
Skills and Experience Required
- An interest in pursuing a career within Family Law.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A professional and empathetic approach when dealing with clients.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
Desirable
- Law degree, LPC, SQE studies, or relevant legal experience.
- Previous experience within a legal office or customer-facing role.
- Knowledge or interest in family law.
