55,000 to 70,000 for a senior mechanical engineer who wants breadth

Somewhere along the way, senior mechanical roles in London turned into coordination jobs. Endless markups, someone else's concept, a client you never meet. This one is the opposite: your designs, your projects, your client relationships. The practice is a multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy with a long established building services team in central London.

Because engineering sits alongside other disciplines under one roof, the projects arrive early and stay in house, which means you shape schemes from first principles rather than inheriting them half formed. The sectors are varied, from education and healthcare to residential and commercial, so the technical problems keep changing. You are probably a senior mechanical engineer at a firm where the interesting decisions happen above your head, or where the pipeline is one sector on repeat. Here you run your own schemes, mentor the engineers coming through, and work directly with the people who bring the work in.

Chartership support is real and funded if you are still on that path. The office is central and well connected, the working pattern is sensible rather than performative, and the benefits package covers the things that matter: pension, holiday that grows with service, and professional fees paid.Salary is between 55,000 and 70,000, with a clear route towards associate for someone who wants the client side of the job as well as the technical side.If that sounds like the version of this job you actually wanted, send a CV or just ask for a conversation.
