This is a key leadership role within the supply chain function, responsible for overseeing purchasing operations, managing supplier relationships, driving continuous improvement and ensuring effective stock management across the business. Working closely with multiple departments, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining product availability, improving efficiencies and supporting wider business objectives. This position would suit a proactive procurement professional who enjoys leading teams, developing processes and working within a fast-paced commercial environment. The Role As Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing the purchasing team while ensuring procurement activities are aligned with operational and strategic business goals. Key responsibilities include:Managing and developing a team of purchasing professionalsCreating a high-performing and collaborative team cultureOverseeing purchasing activities and supplier performanceManaging inventory levels and stock planning to meet business requirementsBuilding and maintaining strong supplier relationshipsMonitoring supplier lead times, service levels and cost performanceSupporting import and logistics-related activities where requiredAnalysing purchasing and inventory data to support decision makingIdentifying and implementing process improvements across procurement operationsWorking closely with operations, logistics, sales and finance teamsProducing reports, KPIs and management information to support strategic planningContributing to wider business projects and continuous improvement initiativesSupporting the ongoing development and optimisation of ERP and business systemsAbout You We are looking for a confident and commercially minded leader with strong purchasing experience and a proven ability to manage people and processes effectively.
