Airfreight Import Coordinator

to join our operations team. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end import process for airfreight shipments, ensuring cargo moves efficiently, compliantly, and on schedule. The role also involves supporting European road freight operations where required, while delivering a high standard of customer service and maintaining strong relationships with customers, carriers, and suppliers. Key Responsibilities Manage the end-to-end coordination of airfreight import shipments from origin through to final delivery. Receive and process customer bookings, providing accurate quotations based on customer requirements. Arrange transport services, including airfreight imports and European road freight, coordinating collections and deliveries as required. Prepare and check all shipping and import documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance. Complete and submit Customs Declarations in accordance with current customs regulations. Monitor shipment progress and provide proactive updates to customers throughout the import process. Liaise daily with customers, airlines, hauliers, customs authorities, and overseas agents to ensure smooth operations. Identify and resolve operational issues promptly, escalating where appropriate. Carry out general administration and accounting duties relevant to the role. Support the wider operations team and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure all activities comply with company procedures, customs requirements, and industry regulations. Skills & Experience The successful candidate will have: Previous experience within airfreight imports is essential. Experience of European road freight operations. Working knowledge of CargoWise. Experience completing Customs Declarations. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong organisational and time management abilities with the ability to prioritise workloads. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong data entry and administrative skills. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure. A flexible, reliable, and positive attitude with the ability to adapt to changing priorities. The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
