Applied AI Engineer / Data Scientist - London - FinTech Start-up

Applied AI Engineer/Data Scientist | London | £90k + Equity | Pre-Seed FinTech

OB have recently partnered with a London-based FinTech currently raising their pre-seed round, looking for an experienced AI/Data Science hire to join their small team as they enter their next stage of growth.

This is very much a build, ship and own environment.

You'll be working on the hard problems behind financial data automation, extracting and matching information often from messy, unstructured data.

The technical challenges include:

• Confidence scoring & threshold calibration
• Building evaluation infrastructure and harnesses
• Designing structure in an inherently ambiguous environment

They're AI-native from the ground up, treating LLMs as infrastructure rather than simply adding AI features to an existing product.

The ideal background:

• 3+ years shipping applied ML/AI into production
• Strong Python
• Proven hands-on experience with LLMs in production
• Experience in FinTech, LegalTech, Insurance or another regulated environment
• Comfortable with ambiguity and high levels of autonomy

The opportunity:

• 3-4 days a week in London
• Join at the very beginning of the company's growth journey

If you're looking for an opportunity where your work will directly shape the AI product and engineering culture, I'd love to speak.
