About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Administrative Officer to join a welcoming and supportive Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in the Chelmsford area. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrator who is passionate about making a difference in an educational setting.
You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the school office, acting as a first point of contact for parents, staff, and external professionals.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team
· Manage the schools reception area, including handling enquiries in person, by phone, and via email
· Maintain accurate pupil records and data using school management systems
· Assist with attendance monitoring, safeguarding records, and compliance documentation
· Coordinate meetings, appointments, and school communications
· Support with admissions processes and SEN-related documentation
· Liaise with external agencies, parents/carers, and local authorities
About You
· Previous experience in an administrative role (school-based experience desirable)
· Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
· Confident communicator with a professional and friendly manner
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Competent in Microsoft Office and administrative systems (SIMS or equivalent is advantageous)
· Understanding of SEN or willingness to learn
