Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Derbyshire or Melton Mowbray Rate: £45 p/h (Ltd – Outside IR35) Contract: 6 months (likely extension) Working Pattern: 4 days onsite, Fridays WFH Our client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the full design lifecycle, from concept through to delivery, on high-impact engineering projects. Key Responsibilities: Develop mechanical designs using Inventor Perform calculations for structural load, airflow, and environmental forces Drive design improvements for cost, weight, and manufacturability Support and lead technical reviews with cross-functional teams Requirements: Strong background in mechanical/structural engineering and fabrication Proficient in Mathcad, Excel, and hand calculations Experience with Inventor or similar (e.g. SolidWorks) Knowledge of acoustics, thermal, and airflow systems Engineering qualification Benefits: Outside IR35 Immediate start Long-term contract potential Interested?
