Role: Senior Health & Safety Advisor Location: London Salary: £65,000 + £5,750 Car Allowance Contract: Full-time, Permanent - 45 hours per week (Monday to Friday) Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join a major civil engineering infrastructure project in London. In this role, you will provide leadership and guidance on all aspects of health, safety and wellbeing, supporting the operational team to ensure work is delivered safely, compliantly and in line with industry best practice. You will work closely with project leadership, site management teams and the client, promoting a positive safety culture while ensuring statutory obligations, company procedures and contractual requirements are met. Key Responsibilities Lead and promote best practice in health, safety and sustainability across the project. Provide expert advice and support to directors, managers and supervisors on their health and safety responsibilities. Build and maintain strong working relationships with the client and key stakeholders. Lead health and safety improvement initiatives, campaigns and development programmes. Ensure effective management controls are in place to support legal compliance and safe working practices. Work closely with site management teams to drive continuous improvement in health and safety performance. Mentor and support junior Health & Safety Advisors where required. Carry out site inspections, audits and workplace surveillance, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring actions are completed. Lead or support accident and incident investigations, producing recommendations to prevent reoccurrence. Analyse health and safety performance data, identify trends and implement improvement plans. Assist in the development and delivery of project inductions, health and safety documentation, procedures and training. Prepare reports, presentations and management information to support project performance and compliance. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, company procedures and contractual requirements.Knowledge, Skills & Experience Senior-level Health & Safety qualification or membership (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, IEMA or CQI). Extensive Health & Safety experience within construction or civil engineering, ideally on tunnelling or other major infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 standards. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio and Microsoft Project.
