About the role
TBC Ltd (Taxi and Bus Conversion Ltd) are recognised as one of the market leading conversion companies operating across the UK and Ireland. TBC Conversions have a close partnership with Motability and major manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, MAN TGE Minibus and many others. Founded on the principles of intelligence, care, and empathy, TBC Conversions specialises in wheelchair accessible vehicles, minibus, and bespoke conversions that fill a gap in the market for quality products and attentive service. Main Purpose of Job Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will be a key member of the TBC engineering team and will carry out various types of vehicle conversion to a very high standard, with customer satisfaction always in mind. TBC Conversions may retain a list of reserve candidates arising from this recruitment for any vacancies which may arise which are the same or similar and are of an equal grade of pay. Such a reserve list will be compiled and held for a period of 6 -12 months. Information: Competitive salary based on experience 4 day working week 24 days holidays - 12 fixed & 12 flexible Responsibilities will include: Receiving the vehicle and carrying out pre-work inspection & paperwork. Read and understand customer specifications as per Job Card. Ability to produce quality work in the time allocated, and account for the quality produced. A range of duties to include: Ability to identify, remove and refit vehicle/electrical components in preparation for welding. Use of angle grinder, metal saw, induction heater, etc. in vehicle preparation. Ability to inspect and position new parts in preparation for welding. MIG welding - Light plate. Clean, body seal and refit components to allow vehicle to pass into build. Complete & sign all paperwork This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities; you will be expected to perform varying tasks as required by your line manager & the business objectives of the organisation. The Person: Candidates must: A mindset that prioritises health and safety. Excellent attention to detail. Have a good standard of education to include GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English. Have at least 1 -2 years of welding experience in a similar environment. Be self - motivated with excellent communication skills. Understand technical information and drawings. You will possess a strong team ethos in your work and always willing to provide support to co-workers. Willing to continue to develop and learn Excellent attention to detail.
