Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.

Role Purpose
Reporting to the Fabrication Supervisor, the post holder will be working as part of a team in a busy Fabrication workshop. You will be responsible for preparation and painting, as well assisting with assembly.
Spray Painter - Job duties
Wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as issued, at all times.
Working to strict deadlines to achieve flawless results.
Working closely with your team, the contractor and other trades onsite.
Following health and safety protocol at all times
Inspection of products during preparation for any defects, e.g. welds, damage etc.
To inform Quality Control of any major non-conformance.
Preparing all items for painting.
Remove rust and scale by sanding /grinding.
Degreasing and washing products.
Prime products to specified thickness.
Remove any contaminants between coats.
Prepare Primed surfaces in readiness for Top coating.
Top Coat as per Contract or other specified requirement to correct thickness.
Inspect for any defect or sub-standard finish and rectify as required.
Maintain workspace to a 5-star standard.
Ensure all extraction systems and filters are cleaned/replaced as necessary.
Ensuring the use of correct storing procedures for all materials are adhered to at all times.
Booking out equipment from the Stores.
Assembling Traffic Barriers and Gates both at head office and on site.
Touch ups as required after assembling and prior to dispatch.
Transport products using the Company Fork Lift Truck and overhead lifting equipment.
Attend Training Courses as required.
Any other reasonable tasks.
Skills, Knowledge and Behaviors
Proven experience working within a similar role
Previous experience in the use of 2-pack paints is essential
Forklift Licence
Able to use a range of hand tools
Enjoy working under your own initiative and managing a busy workload
A solid understanding of health and safety legislation
A good standard of literacy and numeracy
Reliable & professional
Organised, able to prioritise work
