About the role

Software Developer Peterborough – fully onsite Initial 12 month contract – likely to extend for the right person! 37 hours a week: Mon – Thurs 8:30am – 4:45pm, Friday 8:30am – 4pm Up to £22.06 PAYE hourly rate plus holiday and pension contribution OR Umbrella hourly rates up to £29.94 - depending on experience Looking to kick-start your software development career in a world-class engineering environment? We're seeking a Software Developer to join a team responsible for modernising development tools, automation and software workflows that support advanced control systems development. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career developer to gain hands-on experience building software tools, automation solutions, CI/CD pipelines and test frameworks that help engineering teams develop better software, faster! What You'll Be Doing * Developing software tools and automation solutions using modern development practices * Creating scripts and applications that improve engineering and testing workflows * Supporting CI/CD pipelines and software development toolchains * Building, testing, debugging and documenting software * Working with Git, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, VS Code and modern automation tools * Collaborating with engineers, developers and testers to improve software quality and efficiency What We're Looking For * A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline * Experience through university projects, placements, internships, or commercial work * Knowledge of software development using languages such as C# or Python * Understanding of version control, debugging, testing and software development principles * A genuine interest in automation, software tools and engineering technology * Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn To apply, please submit a copy of your up-to-date CV clearly indicating your relevant experience.
