gap technical are representing an established food manufacturing business in their search for an Engineering Team Leader to join their facility in Bolton.
Performance Objectives
Manage and prioritise engineering breakdowns, ensuring all work is completed quickly, safely, and effectively to minimise downtime.
Coordinate the activities of shift engineers, ensuring all maintenance reports and documentation are completed accurately and issued within agreed timescales.
Support the performance management and development of the engineering team through mentoring and guidance.
Drive the achievement of Engineering KPIs and departmental targets.
Contribute to the ongoing development and continuous improvement of the Engineering department to support business growth.
Ensure compliance with all company procedures, Health & Safety regulations, and Food Hygiene standards, addressing issues fairly, consistently, and promptly.
Maintain all plant and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
Participate in both reactive and planned maintenance programmes to maximise equipment performance and reliability.
Assist with the development, implementation, and full utilisation of the CMMS system.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with Production and other support functions, ensuring clear communication and regular feedback.
Identify and implement labour-saving and productivity improvement initiatives in collaboration with production teams.
Provide engineering support, technical guidance, and training to Line Technicians and operational staff.
Person Specification
Good Engineering Knowledge gained within an FMCG environment.
Self-managed and able to influence others to gain their maximum performance.
HNC or NVQ3 or higher in engineering with Supervisory experience - Ideally
Good communication and IT skills
