£95 - £110 per day depending upon experience, temp to perm opportunity on offer  

Newbury Provision

The Role

We are delighted to be introducing a brand new HLTA position at our Newbury Provision, offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Early Years practitioner to take on a rewarding and varied role within our primary team.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will work across our primary classes, providing high-quality PPA cover and taking responsibility for whole-class teaching in the absence of the class teacher. You will benefit from protected planning and preparation time, ensuring that lessons are well-resourced, purposeful, and fully tailored to the needs of each class—because we know that great teaching begins with great planning.

A key element of this role is supporting pupil voice. You will help children communicate and express themselves using the most appropriate method for them, including AAC, Makaton, core vocabulary boards, communication books, and other augmentative and alternative communication strategies.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 5 days per week on a 37-hour contract.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has solid experience working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and/or Key Stage 1
  • Is confident planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons independently
  • Holds, or is willing to work towards, the HLTA qualification
  • Has a warm, patient, and flexible approach and a genuine passion for working with young children
  • Understands and values a range of communication approaches and xwzovoh is committed to developing every child’s voice
  • Is a strong team player with excellent communication skills when working with colleagues, families, and external professionals
  • Is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children
