About the role

Around eighty percent of design work in this practice runs through engineers with real ownership of the technical output. This is an Intermediate Electrical Engineer position with a building services and engineering practice based in London, with the project diversity that location suggests. The work is electrical design across LV power, lighting, small power, containment, and life safety systems. You will run load calculations, drive Revit electrical models, and coordinate with mechanical and public health on the points where electrical sits next to everything else. Two to five years of UK consultancy experience as the baseline. You can hold pieces of work without close oversight, and you are progressing toward Chartership rather than waiting to be told to start. Recurring themes on this brief: commercial, residential, and mixed-use. Prior exposure to those areas is useful, not mandatory. The difference between intermediate roles is almost never the software list. It is whether you are trusted with work that matters while someone senior stays close enough to catch what you cannot yet see. That is the arrangement here, and it is the fastest route to chartership that exists. The commercial, residential and mixed use spread keeps the learning broad.Salary: 45,000 to 55,000 depending on experience. Working pattern: on-site, full time, based in London.Send your CV to Danny Main at Responsum for a 20-minute call this week.If you’ve read this far and you’re still unsure and would prefer a detailed market insight including salary bands and market trends - then check out our free guide here:
