Multiple C# Developers Intermediate to Senior
About the role
Multiple Intermediate-Senior Developers(C# / .NET) — NEW US FDI, BELFAST
A US-headquartered software company is opening its doors in Belfast for the first time, and this is one of up to 10 roles it's hiring across the 3 to 8 year experience range as it builds out its Northern Ireland engineering base. This particular role is for a backend-leaning product engineer who wants to own features end to end, not just work a ticket queue, and who uses AI coding tools as a genuine daily habit rather than an occasional shortcut.
The company builds an AI-powered automation platform used by businesses to streamline complex operational workflows. It's product-led, well-established in its home market, and this Belfast base marks the start of its engineering presence in the region. The team here will be small and deliberately so: what each person builds actually matters, and decisions stick.
The role
This is a backend-leaning product engineering role. You'll work in a small product duo alongside a designer, taking features from high-fidelity prototypes through to production. The split is roughly 80% backend and 20% product judgement, and you own the technical side of that end to end.
Why it's worth a look
- Real ownership: you design the backend architecture, plan the implementation, ship the feature, monitor it in production, and iterate. Nobody hands you a task list.
- AI tooling is a genuine first-class part of how the team works, not a policy statement.
- Starting out remote, with a move to hybrid working expected as the Belfast base grows.
What you'll be doing
- Taking product features from prototype and design through to production: technical planning, backend architecture, APIs, data models, implementation, testing, release and monitoring.
- Building backend services, APIs, workflows, background jobs and integrations in C# / .NET, with attention to observability, security and maintainability.
- Working across event-driven and distributed service patterns, handling retries, idempotency, ordering and eventual consistency.
- Implementing frontend changes when needed to ship a complete feature, using the existing design system rather than creating new patterns.
- Using AI coding tools daily to move faster on implementation, debugging, refactoring and testing, while staying fully accountable for correctness, security and quality.
What they're looking for
Must have:
- Commercial experience building and shipping backend-heavy product features.
- Strong C# / .NET backend experience, with solid understanding of data modelling, API design and distributed service architectures.
- Experience working with event-driven systems, queues or distributed workflows.
- Comfortable working across the frontend when needed to ship complete product flows.
- Practical daily use of AI coding tools such as Copilot, Cursor, Codex or similar, with a clear sense of when to trust the output and when to take manual control.
Nice to have:
- Solid modern frontend framework experience beyond occasional use.
- Experience with workflow orchestration, background job processing, event sourcing or projections.
- Familiarity with cloud-native services including message queuing, NoSQL databases and serverless compute.
- Experience with structured logging, distributed tracing or observability tooling.
- Startup or fast-moving product engineering background.
