Location: Birmingham
Duration: Approximately 2-3 Months
Working Hours: 5.5 Days per Week, 8:00am - 6:00pm (with occasional overtime as required)
Rate: £500 - £600 per day (subject to experience)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Demolition Project Manager to oversee a demolition project in Birmingham involving the cut and carve of an existing reinforced concrete (RC) structure.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and safe delivery of all demolition activities on site, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, manage and oversee all demolition activities on site.
* Coordinate and supervise demolition and saw-cutting teams.
* Monitor progress against programme and provide regular updates to the Operations Manager.
* Liaise directly with the Main Contractor to coordinate site activities and ensure smooth project delivery.
* Attend site meetings and represent the demolition contractor professionally.
* Prepare and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
* Ensure all works are carried out safely and in compliance with relevant legislation, company procedures, and site requirements.
* Manage day-to-day site operations and workforce performance.
* Identify and resolve operational issues to maintain programme targets.
* Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
* Ensure accurate record keeping and reporting throughout the project.
Essential Requirements
* Proven experience managing demolition projects, including RC cut and carve schemes.
* Strong knowledge of demolition methodologies and temporary works considerations.
* Experience managing demolition and saw-cutting teams.
* Ability to communicate effectively with clients, main contractors, and internal management teams.
* Experience producing and managing RAMS.
* Strong leadership, organisational, and reporting skills.
* Reliable references available upon request.
Mandatory Qualifications
* CCDO Black Card (Demolition Management)
* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
Desirable
* First Aid at Work.
* Temporary Works Awareness.
* Experience working on complex urban demolition projects.
