Part-time Teacher of Politics

Location: East Hertfordshire
An ambitious independent school in East Hertfordshire is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Part-time Teacher of Politics to join a thriving History and Politics Department. This Part-time Teacher of Politics opportunity would suit either an Early Career Teacher or an experienced practitioner who is passionate about Politics and committed to outstanding teaching and learning.
The successful Part-time Teacher of Politics will teach engaging and challenging Politics lessons within the Sixth Form across two days each week, delivering approximately 12 lessons per fortnight. This role in Hertfordshire offers the opportunity to work within a supportive and forward-thinking environment where high standards of academic achievement, education and training, and pupil development are highly valued.
The school is looking for a dedicated Teacher who can inspire academic curiosity, motivate pupils, and contribute positively to the wider life of the school community. The successful candidate will embrace the school's High-Performance Learning philosophy and ensure that pupils experience a rigorous and well-structured learning journey tailored to individual needs.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering engaging and challenging Politics lessons at Sixth Form level.
Using assessment effectively to support pupil progress and achievement.
Maintaining high standards of behaviour, discipline, and classroom presentation.
Contributing to curriculum development and departmental resources.
Supporting co-curricular activities and enrichment opportunities.
Upholding the professional standards expected within a leading independent school in Hertfordshire.The ideal candidate will have:
A degree in Politics or a related subject.
The ability to teach Politics confidently at Sixth Form level.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A passion for inspiring young people through outstanding education and training.
