If your answer is “yes,” we have the job opportunity for you just here……… The Opportunity Our Client, a World recognised and respected Automotive OEM Manufacturer based in rural Warwickshire, are actively seeking an experienced Packaging Engineer / Packaging Analyst to join their highly successful team with immediate effect on initially a 6-month Contract basis (Inside IR35). On offer to the successful candidate is a highly competitive hourly rate. As their Packaging Engineer / Packaging Analyst, you will support the development, control, and continuous improvement of packaging fleet, container loops, and related logistics infrastructure. The position is responsible for delivering packaging engineering activities, analysing fleet performance and costs, supporting project implementation, and driving operational improvements to ensure cost-effective, safe, and sustainable packaging solutions across the supply chain. Your duties and responsibilities will be: Support the development and continuous improvement of packaging processes, container loops, and related infrastructure, including pallets, bogeys, and delivery frames. Analyse current packaging fleet performance, utilisation, repair trends, losses, and waste data to identify cost reduction and efficiency improvement opportunities. Prepare business cases and supporting financial analysis for packaging improvement initiatives and new loop proposals. Support the implementation of new packaging loops and engineering changes, including timing plans, milestone tracking, launch readiness activities, and project status reporting. Maintain accurate data sets relating to packaging fleet volumes, asset values, repair and replacement activity, supplier performance, and waste reporting. Produce regular KPI and performance reports covering packaging availability, damage rates, turnaround performance, cost, and supplier delivery metrics. Support annual budget planning activities through preparation of forecasts, spend tracking, purchase order management, and invoice reconciliation. Work closely with suppliers and pallet manufacturers to ensure compliance with company packaging standards, quality requirements, and cost targets. Support supplier onboarding and improve supplier understanding of company packaging specifications and operational requirements. Monitor third-party logistics and contract partner performance against agreed service levels and KPI targets, supporting monthly review meetings. Assist with risk assessments, health & safety reviews, and sign-off documentation for new packaging designs and operational changes. Support environmental compliance activities, including waste reporting, asset recovery, and sustainability improvement initiatives. Investigate and develop analytical tools, dashboards, databases, and simulation models to support “what-if” scenario planning and future budget forecasting.You will have the following qualifications & experience: Should ideally be educated to Degree standard in Logistics, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent, although plenty of relevant experience will also be considered. You should be an experienced Packaging Engineer / Packaging Analyst with logistics, supply chain and/or manufacturing analysis knowledge and expertise. You will have strong data analysis and reporting skills. Should be skilled in the use of Excel / Power BI / database capability. Will be experienced in project coordination and stakeholder management. Should be used to supplier and contract performance management. Continuous improvement / lean problem-solving skills needed. Should be aware of budget and cost control. Health, safety, and environmental compliance understanding is needed.It’s great if you also have the following: Automotive industry experience.This position is available with immediate effect.
