Role Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Haematology Registrar at our Northampton facility. This role is designed for Specialty Trainee Year 3 (ST3) doctors who are passionate about advancing their career in haematology. You will be part of a supportive and innovative clinical environment, working alongside experienced consultants and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care.


Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop comprehensive management plans.



Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, including blood counts, bone marrow biopsies, and genetic testing.



Manage inpatient and outpatient haematology services, ensuring timely and effective patient care.



Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans and treatment options.



Engage in clinical research and audit activities to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.



Provide education and training to junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.



Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with NHS standards.



Required Qualifications and Experience



  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree.



Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).



Completion of Foundation Training and Core Medical Training.



Currently in ST3 Haematology training or equivalent.



Evidence of ongoing professional development and commitment to haematology.



Desirable Skills



  • Strong clinical skills with a focus on haematology.



Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.



Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.



Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.



Experience in clinical research or audit is advantageous.



Compliance Requirements



  • Completion of NHS mandatory training modules.



Adherence to GMC guidelines and professional standards.



Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and data protection regulations.
